The weather wasn’t the only hot item happening on Wednesday, August 7th at the one-year anniversary celebration of the Courtyard by Marriott San Diego El Cajon which was sizzling! The celebratory evening allowed Manager, Juan Alarid to announce to the guests, that the hotel was currently ranked #2 in California and 36th in the world out of 1080 Courtyard hotels. This announcement was met with loud applause from the crowd. When guests arrived, they were greeted by La Mesa Chamber volunteers and then ushered into the ballroom to the sounds of Jazz performer, Ken Meredith. The food stations were filled with delicious bites prepared by the following: Main Street Donuts, Urbane Café, Downtown Café, Black Bear Café, Por Favor and the Courtyard by Marriott San Diego El Cajon. Flower centerpieces were artfully created and offered as a prize by Joanie Hamm, owner of La Mesa Floral Design. Sponsors of the beverages for the evening were: Cali Comfort BBQ, Nonno’s Ristorante Italiano, and Valley Farm Market. They were joined by the Marriott San Diego El Cajon who added beer and champagne for this special occasion.
During the ceremony, Hotel Manager, Juan Alarid welcomed the attendees and introduced his entire team. Rachel Lynch, Director of Sales shared information regarding booking parties and gatherings at the hotel and offered a discount to anyone who books their holiday party at her hotel.
The 1-year anniversary ribbon cutting was captured by our photographer, Sandy Small with Tori Floyd presenting a certificate of recognition from Supervisor Dianne Jacob. The Chamber presented certificates to the Courtyard team from: Congressman Duncan Hunter, Senator Brian Jones and La Mesa Mayor, Dr. Arapostathis. The Chamber held a raffle, which was won by lucky member Kathy Tinsley and produced a silent auction allowing people to take various treasures home and the fun continued throughout the evening.
