Good vibrations were all around at the ribbon cutting and mixer on Wednesday, February 8th at Studio M.I.F. (M.I.F. stands for “Music Is Freedom). As the guests entered they were rapidly treated to a delicious spread that included: the best salt & pepper chicken wings that anyone could image, fruits and vegetables for the heathy folks, cheese cake and chocolate cake for the daring and less waist conscious, as well as assorted chips and dips. The owner, Marvin Sears played bartender and had a huge array of delicious beverages to please everyone. Various selections of wines, beer, soft drinks and bottled water were flowing. There was something for everyone at this high-energy event. Marvin has transformed his location into a venue that can accommodate folks looking to host musical activities, as well as any type of party. The tables and chairs were set up so that everyone could relax, chat and enjoy themselves, while grazing on all the delicious selections.
Senator Joel Anderson sent his representative, Owen Ryckman to present Marvin with a certificate of appreciation and was joined by Supervisor Dianne Jacob’s staff member, Tori Floyd who also presented a certificate on behalf of the Supervisor. Chamber President & CEO, Mary England presented Marvin with a certificate of appreciation from Assemblywoman Shirley Weber, as well as a certificate from the Chamber Board of Directors. The ribbon cutting and fun continued until 7 p.m., with many winning valuable prizes, with the main prize being won by Gloria Shepard.
