Taste of San Diego - East 2024

On Monday, June 24th the Chamber was thrilled to produce the 15th Annual “Taste of San Diego – East.” This evening was an opportunity to spotlight the restaurant, beverage and food industry. This event was produced in partnership with our Presenting Sponsor, EDCO who is always there for the entire community. We were thrilled to produce this year’s event at the new Legacy Resort Hotel and Spa in Mission Valley. The guests strolled the entire perimeter of the ballroom and sampled delights from our excited food vendors. In addition to the food samplings, guests enjoyed other activities such as the silent auction and the famous evening raffles.

The participating business vendors were staged in the ballroom to maximize their exposure to the crowd, allowing them to promote their businesses. Each of them offered a free door prize to those that entered drawings to those that visited their vendor tables. In addition to these prizes, the Chamber offered a special Business Vendor drawing. One lucky person won an overnight stay at the Towneplace Suites by Marriott San Diego Downtown, sponsored by Rachel Lynch for submitting their filled-out Business Vendor cards to the chamber. Congratulations to this year’s winner Chris Cini, manager of the La Mesa Office Depot.

This annual food related event entertained over 430 people this year. The delight of the attendees was obvious, as they grazed from table to table sampling the signature dishes prepared with perfection by the chefs and their staff. The crowd rushed into the ballroom to the aroma of freshly grilled hamburgers, fresh pulled pork, platters of sandwiches, braised chicken, freshly baked pies, corned beef tacos, lasagna, pasta salads, seasoned chicken with an array of sauces, delectable mini desserts and more! As the song says, “Oh, What a Night!” Many of the crowd took a break before continuing their feasting journey and talked with friends and visited the silent auction tables, took part in the Opportunity Drawing, or just hung out before beginning round two or three of samplings.
