On Wednesday, June 22nd, the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce held their quarterly breakfast meeting with guest speaker, Mayor Mark Arapostathis. The crowded room heard from the Mayor about the projects that are in progress throughout the city.
He began with discussing the improvements along University Avenue, then moved to the infrastructure projects throughout the city. All eyes lit up when the Mayor informed us that a new drive thru Starbucks will be coming to La Mesa. The Mayor gave the audience a geographic tour of city projects and was so informative that there were minimal questions during the Q and A portion of the morning.
Sponsors of the breakfast were Carl Burger Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM World, who always has a team attend. They were joined by an additional sponsor, Maggie Clemens, a local realtor who brought a high energy discussion and offered real estate tips about her industry. Maggie Clemens prides herself on being a La Mesa real estate agent that is devoted to her customer’s satisfaction during every step of buying or selling a home.
The Chamber had a variety of raffle items to offer lucky attendees as a complimentary gift for attending. This complimentary raffle had an added bonus: Mayor Arapostathis donated a group of tickets to a Peter Pan Junior Theater production, which made the complimentary raffle even more popular. The cash raffle of the morning was won by a guest of the morning, Bill Korthase. The morning was a flurry of gifts, prizes and cash giveaways as the Attendance Drawing was won by new Chamber Member Depot Springs, whose name was drawn. Founder and CEO Aaron Dean was in attendance and accepted the cash prize.
