On Monday, June 23rd the Chamber was thrilled to produce the 16th Annual “Taste of San Diego East.”  This evening was an opportunity to spotlight the restaurant, beverage, and food industry as well as local businesses. This event was produced in partnership with our Presenting Sponsor, EDCO who is always there for the entire community. The sponsors who joined EDCO were – Supporting Sponsor – AMR, Crème De La Crème Sponsor – Lily’s Manufactured Homes, Bon Appetit Sponsors – California Bank & Trust, California Coast Credit Union, Feeding the Flock SD, Holiday Inn Express La Mesa, Nightwalker Caverns Escape Room Adventures, North Island Credit Union and US Bank.  We are grateful to our Printing Sponsor AAA Imaging, Graphic Designer Kostedt Design & Marketing, Media Partners – KSDY 50, Lemon Grove Media & Communications, Filipino Press, and Vendor Water Sponsor Sycuan Casino Resort. We were thrilled to produce this year’s event at the Legacy Resort Hotel and Spa in Mission Valley. The guests strolled the entire perimeter of the ballroom and sampled delights from our excited food vendors. In addition to the food samplings, guests enjoyed other activities such as the silent auction and the famous evening raffles.  The participating business vendors were staged in the ballroom to maximize their exposure to the crowd, allowing them to promote their businesses.  Each of them offered a free door prize to those that visited their vendor tables. In addition to these prizes, the Chamber offered a special Business Vendor drawing.  One lucky person won a 2-night stay at the Holiday Inn Express in La Mesa sponsored by Niki Carino and the team at the Holiday Inn Express. Congratulations to this year’s winner Theresa Mason!

This annual food related event entertained over 480 people this year. The delight of the attendees was obvious, as they grazed from table to table sampling the signature dishes prepared with perfection by the chefs and their staff.  This year’s food vendors were – Aromas of India Bar & Grill, Big Al’s Baking Co., Boil Daddy,  California’s Best Catering, Chef de Cuisine, Duke’s Old Fashioned Onion Burgers, Edible Arrangements, Eleazar Catering, El Torito-La Mesa, Gordito Tamalito, Himalayan Cuisine, Hooleys Public House, Kalei’s Kitchenette, Legacy Resort Hotel & Spa, Marie Callender’s, Mystic Monk Jun Brewery, Nonno’s Ristorante Italiano, Richrd’s Bees and Sushi on a Roll.  Many of the crowd took a break before continuing their feasting journey and talked with friends and visited the silent auction tables and business vendors to enter the door prize drawings or just hung out before beginning round two or three of samplings.
