The crowd was happy, and the conversations were “fast and furious” at the open house and ribbon cutting for the Goodwill renovated retail location at 8250 La Mesa Boulevard on Wednesday, May 15th. The Goodwill team was excited to welcome us (everyone was in the signature color of royal blue shirts and clothing) and show off their NEW retail space! The recent remodeled location added 2,200 square feet of shopping space and opened a community employment center. The new community employment center will be a great advocate to assist those looking for jobs and employment.
The Goodwill works to enhance the dignity and quality of life of individuals and families by strengthening communities and helping people in need, reach their full potential through learning and the power of work. Those on hand to celebrate this newly renovated location were – La Mesa Mayor Mark Arapostathis, who had many kind words about the value of this retail location, and La Mesa Police Captain Greg Runge, who added his comments about the value of this location in La Mesa. They were joined by La Mesa Chamber President & CEO Mary England and the President of the Board of Goodwill Industries, who had remarkable comments about the vision of Goodwill which is to, “Make Good Happen.”
