On Tuesday, January 24th the groundbreaking was held for the 8181 Allison Avenue (the old La Mesa police department site) new apartment homes and celebration launching this new project. This much-needed project will provide 147 apartment homes with both one- and two-bedroom floor plans. These apartment homes will be ideal for singles, empty-nesters, seniors, and families. They are affordable for a variety of incomes ranging from 30% to 70% of the area median income. Each unit will be equipped with energy-efficient elements including dual-paned windows and energy star appliances. The celebration was led by M.C. Milo Terzich, Vice President. Development and Entitlements of USA Properties which included comments from La Mesa Mayor Mark Arapostathis, Vice Mayor, Colin Parent, Council members Jack Shue and Patricia Dillard, City Manager Greg Humora and others from the construction industries.
