La Mesa Wine Works Ribbon Cutting 2021

On May 19th people came to be together at the FIRST face-to-face mixer (that was combined with a ribbon cutting) since March 12th, 2020. It was like a class reunion! People were so glad to see each her and just be in the same room together. Owners, Linda and Mike McWilliams were on hand to greet and mingle. Linda was the gracious hostess of the night! The team at La Mesa Wine Works, were also so friendly and assisted folks in choosing their beverages. La Mesa Wine Works is a cooperative tasting room that features premium wines from San Diego County wineries. La Mesa Wine Works is located at 8167 Center Street in La Mesa, directly across from Linda and Mike’s winery – San Pasqual Winery. Linda has the distinct honor of being one of the only female wine makers in our region and knows more than you can imagine about wines! Stop by and ask her anything and pick up bottles of wine “to go” or stay and enjoy a glass of your favorite vino!

We want to thank the food sponsors for the evening and encourage you to visit their places of business – the food was delicious! Thank you to Joe Flaherty, owner-operator of Marie Callender’s, the pies were scrumptious, Nadia Mahalingam, owner of The Lunch Box – the muffins hit the spot, and Javier Correa, Jr. of Sombrero Mexican Food – the chicken-filled wrapped fajitas were out of this world!

The ribbon was cut with great fanfare and La Mesa Wine Works was presented a certificate of recognition by Supervisor Joel Anderson’s representative, Eileen Henot, a certificate from the City of La Mesa and Mayor Mark Arapostathis and the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce were presented by President & CEO, Mary England.

Special thank you to our photographer, Sandra Small/ Photographer.
