The La Mesa Chamber processed checks for local businesses that applied via an application process for funding that was donated by local businesses. Thanks to the following donors these checks were made possible via the La Mesa Business Assistance Fund that was created and launched in August. Randall Lamb Associates made a generous contribution to begin the fund. Others who followed and wanted to make a difference are: Albert’s Mexican Food, The La Mesa Lion’s Club, Gary Green and Jeff Phair, partners in the La Mesa Summit Estates development, The La Mesa Strong T-Shirt Team and several other anonymous donors. We thank all who helped our local businesses during the riots and the damage that followed with donations, donating their time to help with the aftermath of clean up, the making of the beautiful painted boards that covered the windows of our businesses and those that now shop in our businesses to help them financially recover. Together we have shown the region and nation that a community that experiences a tragic experience, rise up together and move their community forward.
