The La Mesa Chamber of Commerce was proud to introduce Heartland Fire and Rescue Fire Chief, Fire Chief Steve Swaney at our breakfast meeting held on Wednesday, October 16th. He became our Fire Chief in October of 2018. We were happy to celebrate his 1-year anniversary! He served in the City of El Cajon and Heartland Fire and Rescue since 1985. He is currently the Fire Chief of La Mesa, Lemon Grove and El Cajon. As he told the crowd, he attends quite a few city council meetings and has a great staff that assists him in the day-to-day management of the three cities. He also served as the fire chief for the Julian Cuyamaca Fire Protection District and is a Federal Emergency Management Agency–certified canine evaluator. Joe Flaherty and his staff prepared a delicious breakfast for our attendees and no one left the breakfast hungry! Raffles were held and there were over 10 lucky winners going home with prizes.
