The La Mesa Chamber of Commerce held the first breakfast meeting of the year on Wednesday, February 21st. The featured speaker of this popular series was Supervisor Dianne Jacob. Supervisor Jacob was informative, upbeat, interactive and shared some real-life stories regarding her desire to create programs and services that assist seniors and others within her district. She is working to improve the care given to seniors with dementia and other types of illness, so that they are placed in the correct facility when things go wrong. This new program was based on a real-life situation that came to light regarding the treatment of a male senior with an issue that was handled incorrectly. The Supervisor shared the “boom” of farming and agriculture in her district and advised about applications that have been created for people to inform the county about graffiti, road problems and other non-emergency issues within their area. Supervisor Jacob is serving her final term, after being re-elected for her historic 7th term. The sponsor of this breakfast meeting was Carl Burger Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM World, a constant supporter of the La Mesa Chamber and community. In addition to a great breakfast prepared by the competent staff of Marie Callender’s, many prizes were awarded to lucky winners at the end of the meeting.
