The La Mesa Chamber of Commerce held our breakfast meeting on Wednesday, May 24th. The guests were entertained by one of the morning sponsors, David Hornbrook of Hornbrook Center for Dentistry, as he shared information on the latest trends in dentistry and procedures. Dr. Hornbrook has been transforming the smiles and self-confidence of people for the past 30 years. He continues to be a leader in his field and is a world- renowned lecturer and educator. He offered our Chamber members a free consultation and/or a second opinion. Our other sponsor, Carl Burger Dodge Chrysler Jeep RAM World was not able to attend, but we thank them for their constant support. Our featured speaker was La Mesa Fire Chief, Coilin Stowell. Chief Stowell joined the La Mesa leadership team in November, 2016 after serving in the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. Chief Stowell shared information about several priorities – Fire Prevention, Public Education, Emergency Response and more, and he is also beginning several new programs for our community.

The Chamber has always been a supporter of our community first responders. There is a wellness program that assists all First Responders, employees and families in a time of professional and personal crisis. First Responder’s day-to-day jobs have immense stress and emotional trauma. The Chamber invited La Mesa Police Department Lt. Greg Runge and Sgt. Katy Lynch to join the breakfast and Gave them a check for the program to assist their Wellness -Peer Support Program. We are grateful for the sacrifices that these men and women make every day and we are proud to raise funds and donate them in support of this critical program.
