Well whoever said that the 2nd time is the “charm” must have been talking about our “value added” activity for members, the 2nd Annual “Spring Fling” Business Expo. The merriment happened on Thursday, April 28th. The room was on fire and the energy in the room could have lit up all of the houses in La Mesa for at least a couple of days! Over 49 businesses took part in this activity as table vendors (we were sold out weeks before on table space) and they had a ball, talking and enjoying each other’s company. A highlight of the evening was when these shy and demure business owners/representatives took the mic to award the winners of their door prizes, that was a sight to behold! Several have a future in radio! We were honored to introduce 35 new Chamber members to the audience and present them with gift bags of certificates and recognition. The photo is below. The public was invited and they attended! The parking lot was full before we opened our doors! In addition to the fun, food and the frolicking that went on throughout the evening, a silent auction was popular, as well as the raffle won by a representative of a new member, Bob Stafford of Cox Communications. I bet he will be back!
