On Wednesday, June 21st, the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce, along with the Board members of Lamplighters Community Theatre, a remarkable group of caring theatre volunteers welcomed members and friends of the local business community to celebrate their 80th anniversary. Guests were greeted by a group of volunteers and received a free raffle ticket, enjoyed delicious snacks and fine wines. The Board Members of the Lamplighters Theatre were in force to share in this special occasion. After the lucky raffle winners were announced and received their gifts (gifts were donated by the La Mesa Chamber and the Lamplighters Theatre) everyone were ushered into the theater to take photos, participate in the ribbon cutting and present certificates of recognition to commemorate this special occasion. We want to send a loud THANK YOU to Renee Levine who prepared most of the snacks – Renee you are a real blessing and your time and attention are greatly appreciated!

Guests took a tour of the theater and were welcomed by people that wanted to recognize this special evening. Congressman Duncan Hunter sent his representative, Rita Sporleder to present a certificate of appreciation, Senator Joel Anderson sent his representative, Lyanne Dalida to present a certificate of appreciation for their 80 years within the community, Supervisor Dianne Jacob sent Tori Floyd to present her Certificate of Appreciation, Assemblywoman Shirley Weber sent a certificate that was presented by President & CEO of the Chamber, Mary England who also presented a certificate from the Chamber as well. Miss La Mesa, Heather Bardin and Miss La Mesa Teen, Alexis Smith also joined in this special evening and we had the evening captured by our photographer, Sandy Small – thank you sandy!

We congratulate Lamplighters Community Theatre for their 80 years of dedication to our community. We wish you another 80!
