Your Vote Makes a Difference – Cast your ballot today!

It is time to elect the leadership team that will continue to guide the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce and assist our local business members, as well as make a difference in our community. All of our Directors are volunteers and have a desire to serve you, our members!

Take a look at the ballot that was emailed to you and cast your ballot by Friday, October 18th. If you wish to bring your ballot in person to our Annual meeting and mixer at Hooleys on Wednesday, October 23rd – that ballot must be placed in the ballot box by 6:15 p.m. to be counted.

There are 6 people that wish to lead for a two-year term. We have provided a “snapshot” of these six candidates so you can familiarize yourself with these candidates.

Steve Browne

Steve has been serving on the La Mesa Chamber Board of Directors for the past 4 years. While a Board Member, Steve has been a tireless volunteer at our annual events and activities. Steve has been the owner of his family owned business for the past 36 years. As a small business owner, he understands that the businessperson is the backbone of the local economy. Steve is active within his community. He is currently the youth director of his church, was selected to be a Planning Commissioner for the City of Lemon Grove and serves on the Youth Advisory Committee for the Lemon Grove Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL Zone) organization. Steve enjoys serving on the Board of Directors and would like to serve another term.

Michel McCorkle

Global Protection Group

Mike McCorkle was a member of the Marine Corps and served our country for 14 years. While a Marine, Mike served in the field of security and traveled to various countries. Mike then spent 15 years in the field of hotel security for: Emerald Plaza, U.S. Grant Hotel, and was the Regional Security Director for the Wyndham Hotel chain. Mike has worked for the past 12 years at Global Protection Group as a Qualified Security Advisor and is currently managing their San Diego branch. He is a member of the VFW, a member of the Hotel Security Directors Association and volunteers for the Disabled American Veterans Association. Mike volunteers as a member of our security team at all of our signature events and would like to continue to serve our business community as a member of our Board of Directors.

Jim Butcher

Owner, AAA Imaging

Jim has been on our Board of Directors for the past two years. Jim is the owner, along with his family of AAA Imaging, a printing and copy center. They have owned their business and property in Lemon Grove for the past 28 years. Jim is committed to providing superior customer service and the company prints all types of print media. Jim is generous with his support of our Chamber, by being the print sponsor for the majority of all of our events and activities. Jim also participates in all of our major fundraisers throughout the year and has been instrumental in the growth of our two annual Business Expos. Jim believes in giving back to his community and is active as a youth director of his church. Jim would like to continue serving our members as a Board Member.

Brian Sack

Owner, Sanctuary Cruises

Brian Sack served on the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 2013-2018. He has focused on his new venture, Sanctuary Cruises in Moss Landing and travels between San Diego and Moss Landing when needed. His background in marketing and sales makes him a natural for his new adventure. Brian is now ready to take a leadership role again with our Chamber, as he spends a good amount of time now in our area. His new business Sanctuary Cruises is a unique family-friendly whale watching cruise ship business that he owns with his family. Brian is a consummate volunteer and community leader. In addition to our Chamber he has served on: The Coronado Speed Festival, Fleet Week San Diego Foundation, Mission Valley Chamber of Commerce, San Diego Bowl Game Association, and on the Ray and Joan Kroc Center Advisory Board in conjunction with the Salvation Army Kroc Center. Brian volunteers as an Emcee at many of our events and is a valuable asset to our Chamber. He wishes to re-join our leadership team and serve our community.

Sandra Eggleton

Block Advisors

Sandy has worked for Block Advisors for the past 18 years. She is currently the Office manager for 3 of their locations: La Jolla, Solana Beach and La Mesa. She enjoys working with people and prior to working for Block Advisors she and her Husband owned a physical therapy business. Sandy is a member of the Solana Beach Chamber and is serving as the Treasurer of the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce. Sandy can be seen as a key volunteer, at the registration table at all of our breakfast meetings, evening mixers, and assists as a lead volunteer at our business expos and all of our signature events. Sandy wants to continue working with the Chamber of Commerce and serve another term on the Board of Directors.

Marcia Tolin

Your Real Estate Lifestyle Specialist

Marcia Tolin has served on the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for four terms.  Marcia enjoys being involved with the business community through the La Mesa Chamber, as well as her involvement as a local real estate agent.  This unique opportunity allows Marcia to assist businesses, shop owners, residents and future homeowners in La Mesa and the region. Marcia is very active in the community by having served as a Commissioner on the Loan Committee for Real Estate Rehabilitation for the City of La Mesa, a Commissioner on the La Mesa Community Services Commission (10 years), and currently serving on the La Mesa Historical Preservation Commission as well as a member of the La Mesa Historical Society.  Marcia enjoys her ability to be involved with the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce and be active with local businesses and residents through our many local activities.  Marcia would like to continue to serve her community by being a Director of the La Mesa Chamber for another term.
